Seascapes
The power of water is a compelling subject for photography, from small streams winding quietly along the forest floor to the floodwaters of mountain peaks and the tireless ocean.
Seaside - made by moving the camera horizontally, I attempt to capture the feeling of the tireless surf.
Erosion - the endless surf creates, in turn, endless patterns in the sandstone along the shore at Weston Beach in Carmel.
Pescadero Sunset - light from the setting sun reflected on the sandstone cliffs.
Rodeo Beach - just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, looking down on the beach from the cliffs.
Sandstone with Shell - another capture from Weston Beach. The tiny shell nestled in a crevace of the sanstone caught my eye.
Bean Hollow Sunset - a group of friends or family (?) take in the moment as the sun sets.
Pigeon Point Lighthouse - the highlights of the afternoon sun on the waves lends a painterly quality to this image.
Eternity - Taken at sunset at Garapata State Beach, this lone rock stood out above the surf, evoking the sense of timelessness of both surf and rock.
Carmel Sunset - another dramatic sunset, taken from the cliffs above Carmel Beach in early Winter.
After the Storm - the jagged rock at Martins Beach takes the full force of the surf.
Weston Beach Shoreline - the eroded rocky shore always fascinates me - so many lines punctuated by the surf and seaweed.
